But I have feedback on ebay/half.com, here, and possibly at mothering.com (don't remember if I ever set anything up there), and I have tons of mamas who could speak on my behalf, LoL.

I'll post my ISO list later...just wanted to let y'all know I'm interested!

omg i remember you mama!

Yes! Remember you, too! :) You are such a sweet and caring woman

Where are the swap rules? I thought there used to be a sticky somewhere.

I'm a UBB consultant and I've got tons of things that are being discontinued but are used...like lots of bath fizzies, essential oil combinations, bath oils, etc. Can we use stuff like this (if someone wants these things)?

I need a little help here with the general swap rules. Also, does everyone pay for their own shipping?

thanks!

Okie dokie. Like I said, first swap, so I may add more things that I'm ISO, or definitely don't want/need...

ISO:
For my son (Noah, will be three in August):

Size 9 and/or 10 Soft Star Elastic Mocs (or comperable brand like moss feet, or something similar)

training pants for day and night time! Ones that he can easily get on and off by himself. He poops in the potty, so I'm not worried about cleaning messes. He is about 26 lbs.

A lEhman's gift certificate www.lehmans.com

Useful Toys! His birthday is August 19th and he'll be THREE!! :)
I've seen lots of cute wooden toys and toy sets that I know he'd really love. He's got plenty of train track stuff, but he could use more pieces for his PLAN CITY set. Also pretty much anything wooden (that is age appropriate. Baby toys really bore him, lol)

The only plastic toys that I want for his is Fisher Price Little People sets. He has a barn and the mini city, some people a few animals, and two cars. I was trying to get him the castle set for his birthday.

Pretty much anything

Books in different languages (to teach the other language....so english/? books) any language, but especially spanish. NOT Language Nursery...already have that one

Thomas the Train "stuff"

play silks that can be used for capes, forts, etc.

outside toys...sprinkler-type toys, outdoor things he can do if there isn't anyone to play with.

a bank. I really like the ones from Haba, but can't afford those. I know there are other nice ones. Just something that would interest a three yr old, but isn't breakable.

He absolutely LOVES fire trucks, police cars, and just about anything there is that has to do with them. Mostly fire trucks.

"mini-cleaning supplies" Especially a broom! He loves to sweep but I'm tired of getting whacked in the head, lol

Stuff for his Baby (or a new one!). I made him a waldorf-style baby two christmases ago and this one is SO worn and tattered, and he's never had any other clothes for his baby. He might really like a sling for it, too.I believe it's an 18-inch tall baby. (he tells me his baby is a boy). Oh, he already has a stroller for his baby.

For Me:
I started a PART part time job doing lactation counseling at a local WIC office. I have to wear nice clothes (this is hard for me, as I'm the kind of mama who wears pajamas all day, lol). I would really like some nice tops. I have three that I've been rotating for almost two months and it's getting old! lol. I wear a size small in tops. They don't need to be SUPER dressy, but the need to have a sleeve (no strapless or sleeveless), and they need to look "nice". Sorry, can't describe it better, lol. They need to be in VG or New condition.

a Lehman's gift certificate www.lehmans.com

Books/CDs/Movies to teach conversational spanish (for my new job...I don't need or want anything with proper spanish...just quick phrases...and not travel specific...don't need to ask where the bathroom is, or how much it cost, lol)

Dear America Books. Any and all of them! (I'm starting to collect them to use for history in our "homeschooling")

Case Studies in Breastfeeding (a book)

So my wishlist on half.com http://tinyurl.com/a6bg9

Musicals (DVD, VHS, or CDs). Just about any of them! If I already have something in movie form, I'd love to have it on CD, too, and vice-versa. Here's what we already have:seven brides for seven brothers (movie), the Music Man (cd), The Best of Broadway (a compilation of music on cd), Phantom of the Opera (cd), Les Miserables (cd), Fiddler on the Roof (both), Sound of Music (both)...and probably others. I'll try to be more detailed later, or you can always just ask if I want this one or that one! : )

I'd really like a husband. Please send applications for courtship to my email address. LOL

I really want a violin (longshot, I know, but I'm having trouble thinking of things).

Oh! I want a set of bamboo knitting needles (like size 15..or around that)

Some nice knitting yarn. very soft, preferably natural fibers. All colors

Putumayo CDs. I think pretty much any and all of them, but especially the ones with lots of languages and the African ones!

Gift Certificates for almost any place (unless it's only a local thing,of course). If I can't use it, I can give it as a gift or get stuff for my son, etc.

Purses for work. I like the small ones that are in style now because I can put them inside my work bag when I don't need it. I already have a black one, but other styles/colors would be a nice variety.

some nice natural foods cook books. Doesn't have to be vegetarian, but that is preferable. One with recipes that don't require a chef to make ;)

I'm sure I'll add more later, lol

Here's what we definitely don't want or can't have/use:

anything with artificial fragrance

can't use anything with tea tree, peppermint, or eucalyptus essential oils

nothing that smells (tastes) minty or like wintergreen

we don't need any bath stuff...we have lots of that! lol

my son doesn't need any clothes...we're doing very well with hand-me-downs!

Some things, off the top of my head, that I have to trade (I will not the condition of each item):

4 inch (head to toe, not including hat) 100% organic cotton gnome doll. Brand New

Hanging Car essential oil diffuser. used but good condition.

Belly Casting Supplies (don't need any right now): To brand new tubes of lubricant (petroleum-free surgical grade). At least two brand new rolls of casting strips.

About 2 ml of "Relaxing" EO blend (cedarwood, sweet orange and ylang ylang)

Almost 4 ml of "Revitalizing" EO blend (rosemary, lemongrass, orange, ginger root, grapefruit, mandarin, cinnamon, and lemon)

"push open" tea diffuser (used once)

Weleda calendula baby cream. Was brand new this morning, until my toddler squeased about a quarter of it out, lol. Not used on anyone, though.

Cute Haba hair band with flower. Brand New

One each of these size CPFs (all brand new):
7-14 lbs
14-20 lbs
20-35 lbs
35-60 lbs

Brand new tube of Tom's apricot-flavored homeopathic style toothpaste (m son took the foil seal off, but we've never used it.

About $10 worth of Pampers brand coupons

These are all things that worked well, but can't use anymore because they contain tea tree, peppermint, or eucalyptus oils, which antidote the remedies that Noah and I are on now:

About 1/5 of a one ounce bottle of peppermint EO (w/glass dropper)

Partially used MigraStick (little roll on tube with peppermint and lavender...for headaches and migraines)

A little over half a jar (full jar is 7.5 oz) of Peppermint scented Fizzy Bath Salt (Janet's Garden).

Over half a bottle of Beat It! deet-free bug spray (completely natural..SO bummed that we can't use this because it was the first bug stuff, all natural, that I found that actually worked)

little over half a bottle of Melaleuca Oil shampoo from melaleuca

Brand new bottle of completely and totally natural Mexitan sunscreen for Kids spf 30 with green tea (again sooooo bummed we can't use this anymore)

about a 5th of a bottle left of Erbaviva sniffle bath essence (really helps relieve stuffy noses)

Full bottle of Burt's Bees Doctor Burt's Herbal Blemish stick

and last to list for right now is an almost full 1 ounce bottle of Black Tea and Berries Fragrance oil with glass dropper.

Thanks and Blessings!!

thanks!

You pay shipping on the boxes you send out.

OK, some general guidelines. You post your ISO. Everyone else posts theirs. At the close of the swap, you look it over and make your choices. You can ask to send to just one person, or 2 or 3--but please make as many possible choices as possible, for easier matching (like choose 3-4 people you COULD send to). PM the choices to me. I make the matches, and post the list. You PM the people you are sending to for their addresses, get the box ready, and ship, with Delivery confirmation, by the send-by date.

As far as used things--you can always ask someone now. If there is someone you think you have stuff to send to them, and you want to make sure it's OK to send used things, then just PM them now and ask. I'm sure they are mostly fine--like EO combinations, bath oils. I can't figure out how a fizzie would be partially used, but that's slow me :)

I think we need to move the end date to the 29th so that there's a chance for more entries once the boards are busy again on Monday.

The ship date could be moved to the 8th.

That gives us busy days for recruiting and several days to ship.

It also gives the mamas who said they are participating, but haven't had time to put up their lists time to do so.

Can we?

5T boys winter coat with hood and snow cuffs at the wrist

5t snowpants - don't have to match the jacket

toddler 11 snow boots, any color but pink or blatantly girly

pull on winter hat and mittens for 5t boys

4t boys halloween costume (5t if it is one piece - long torsoed kid)

dvds - kids movies - specifically searching for black stallion, lady & the tramp, hercules, dumbo - have a couple of other titles so feel free to ask if you want to check

unbreakable things to hang on the xmas tree

size L womens skirts, prefer solid color or summery flowers, below the knee length, no mauve-y colors please or I look completely dead

teas or coffee, no flavors

music cds to listen to for me while working in my ap store, need to be peaceful type music

any brio-compatible train stuff for the boys

a dog collar for a 35# dog

1-2 kids umbrellas

a heavy raincoat for a 2t (not insulated - but that rubber raincoat kind would be great)

rainboots in 10.5 or 11 toddler, anything but blatantly girl, lots of wear okay but no holes please

I would love a handmade coffee cup, used is perfect, particularly if you can tell me a story about it (bought it in Boise, for example)

ANY bath salts as long as they are not patchouli and not artificially scented/colored, partial packages just fine with me

any potty training videos or books except Bear in the Big Blue House

toy story clothing of any kind, 2t or 5t shirt/4t bottoms (boys undies in 4t would be so cool!)

cowboy hats for my boys

kids music cds, burned are fine

anything about live-breeding aquarium fish - we've got guppies

any taped episodes of Mr Rogers would be the greatest! vhs would be fine (we don't get tv in our house so it's got to be taped or they'll never see it)

any pretend/imagination type clothing/hats/accessories for the boys

a night alone with my dh (just dreaming....)

Last Minute addition: we are going on a long plane trip in August - any little hand-held games, toys, etc that would hold either boy's attention (ages 22m and 3 1/2) for at least 5 minutes would be great! Can be cheapie anything - something to pull out of my 'bag of tricks' during a meltdown sort of thing.

You will PM me with your list--you can start it now, but we don't close until wed and a lot of people haven't posted their ISOs yet, so if you can wait until Wed it's better.

Okay, this is subject to editing until the deadline :)

For me:
Jane’s plus nursing bras.. size large, any color, but want good/excellent condition
Mama Jane’s tops, size large.. good/excellent condition
Crossover nursing gowns – size large or xl.. the slits drive me nuts! homemade is fine with me - and I can provide my chest measurement if that helps.. I just need to find the tape measure :)
cookie joy cookies. They're the cluster kinda things, our target sells some, but I'm really craving the mint kind and I can't find them anywhere.
Karen Hahn blooming wild figurines - check with me first, I may be getting a couple, and want to make sure I don't get duplicates.
strong barettes.. I've got long, thick curly hair and I break more barettes than you could imagine
Things for the hospital.. a phone card (partially used is fine, I'd just like at least an hour or two on it to call all the out of state relatives since I can't use my cell phone), a couple paperback books (read is wonderful, I'm particularly into historical romance at the moment.. you know, the kind of stuff that doesn't require any concentration or thought but is just *fun*).. :) Also crystals.. Lindsey insists I need to have some to assist me through my birth (this comes after seeing the crystals at the babyland general hospital where the cabbage patch dolls are born)
A cast iron cauldron
Simplicity's "how to sew" book

For Lindsey:
Hanna playdress/daydresses - size 100 or larger - sets would be wonderful
Hanna oh so happy dresses - size 100 or larger
Bike shorts for under dresses - 3T or 4T, we have pinks, yellow, red and turquoise
size xs or 4T ballet leotards with attached skirts (must be attatched, she's too skinny to hold them up) - no characters please - and good condition
4T rain coat.. pref. pink, lavender or ladybug. Not the cheapy Miss Spider one from Target, it didn't fit her correctly and she didn't like the way it felt.
size 4 gymboree leggings (or anything else really).. solids preferred. They're the ONLY pants we've found that fit her correctly.
a small globe

For Joshua:
2T and 3T plain black leggings for creative movement class in the fall
Tonka town cars... they're the only ones he wants to play with
brio pieces that are double ended so that he can put them wherever he needs to..
coloring books (new please) for the hospital.. he wants dinosaurs or construction... I've got some coloring books for Lindsey, but haven't found anything good for him yet, aside from one bob the builder coloring book.
anything with dragons or "gnomie gnomies"

For the baby princess:
Hanna playdress/daydresses - size 50 for summer, 60 for fall/winter, 70 and 80, 90 in either long or short sleeves
hanna oh so happy dresses - any size
Black party bow robeez 0-6 month - ec. please to wear with her Christmas outfit.
Pink newborn/infant headrest for the carseat, used is fine, good condition please since it'll hold my sweet baby's head. :)
Pink fleece "bundle me" for the stroller/carseat

Misc:
Rescue remedy
apis mellifica 30c - in case of bee stings
hylands bumps and bruises cream
arnica tablets for the first aid kit I need to create for the car
natural/herbal burn salve for the first aid kit
playsilks - not hankie size - bright red, browns and black
unopenned mylecon drops, infant tylenol and infant motrin - generic okay
anything off my amazon.com list (Jodi Pilcher - Duluth, Georgia)
california baby bubble bath - any scent

*note: I'm trying hard to declutter (and if you knew me irl, you'd know why this is such a challenge).. if you've got something that isn't on my list that you think I might like, please PM me and ask. :) Lots of times I forget about stuff. With clothing, I'm fairly specific because I've got so much already and just need to fill in a few gaps :)

***also, if you've got any of the following to send to me, PLEASE PM me.. it's stuff I want for the hospital and will go buy soon if it doesn't appear anyone has some to send :) - a phone card, pink newborn/infant headrest, crystals, rescue remedy, mylecon or tylenol.

o.k., two questions:

1. I have some specifc things that are brand new from UBB (my own personal stock) that we no longer sell and I wouldn't mind swapping them. Can I post these (and maybe other specific items that I have here) as items that I have to trade, so that maybe someone who wants these things, but forgot they wanted them, or WOULD want them if they knew they were available, could post it in their ISO list?

2. It seems like the stuff I'm finding is either too far under $15-$20, or it's just a little bit over (if going by the $20 range, then like 3-5 over). Is there a way to work around that? Or do I just need to figure it out? I'm just looking for suggestions because I've never done this and thought maybe y'all had gone through these situations before and would know the answers : )

thanks and Blessings,

ZandLsMom

Yes, please post the UBB stuff that you have because loads of peoplel will see it, and some of them will have a little light go off thinking Oh Yeah, I've been wanting one of those.

Also, the swap is for at least $15 now, it's always ok to go over that $ unless it makes you feel really yucky. If things are way under the $15, see if you have something else that you can put in that will bring it up to the amount. I know there are lots of mamas who've said "surprise me". If you are putting that mama on your "I can swap with her" list, and you have a little extra something that is appropriate for her kid or her, then go for it.

Can I have a consensus on whether or not we want $20 or $15?? I tend to agree that at $15, you pay a lot for shipping. Anyway... I changed it to $15 because I thought more people wanted it that way. But then some said hte other way. I'm tired and confused ;) Weigh in here, and then I'll make a decision.

naturalmama
06-27-2005, 08:51 PM
I prefer the bigger swaps, because it's a better value for my shipping. So, I would prefer $20.00 or higher....

I prefer $20. I usually try and put in a bit extra anyway :)

06-27-2005, 09:28 PM
yes, it feels kind of a waste of money to send a box only worth $15. I'd like to go for $20.

BTW: I added to my ISO and to my stuff I have to give!

dandelions2
06-27-2005, 10:07 PM
I agree...$20 is more worth it, but I'll do whatever and just send extra. :)

SarahLynne
06-27-2005, 10:12 PM
I would normally prefer $20 cuz you get more bang for your buck.....but sometimes (like this time) I prefer $15 because it can be hard for me to find someone to send enough to. It looks like I'm in the minority on that this time and if I can't find enough to send to someone, that's ok....I can always sit out this time. ;)

I am voting for $20 too.

Sarah, if you list what you can think of that you have that isn't on anyone's list, maybe someone will add some of your stuff to their list.

I vote for $15 - that way I feel like I can 'overperform' and really make someone go 'wow'. At $20 sometimes expectations get really out of whack with what I see as $20 worth of swap stuff... but I am okay with $15.
